Methods of Data Collection
Extract, Transform, Load (ETL)
Used when data already exists. It involves extracting data from a source, transforming it into a useful format, and loading it into a target system for analysis.
Active Data Collection
Involves directly asking users for information. This includes methods like surveys, interviews, and filling out forms with personal details.
Passive Data Collection
Gathering information without directly asking the user. Examples include tracking website usage with cookies or collecting system-generated timestamps.
